4th August 2020 Gloucestershire Academy of Music (GAM) is very grateful to Brimpsfield Music Society for its support during the Covid 19 crisis. At the beginning of lockdown, the GAM team went online, delivering over 2,000 individual instrumental lessons during the summer term and providing ensemble sessions and orchestral sectional rehearsals to hundreds of children. It became clear early on that the finances of many of our students and their families were adversely affected by the pandemic. The GAM trustees quickly established a fast-track bursary scheme to enable as many children as possible to continue their music education. This fund has enabled us to help double the number of bursary students than would normally be the case. Thank you to Brimpsfield Music Society for contributing to the fund and for enabling us to support these students. 16th July 2020 BMS Village Hall Concerts will be relaunched in March 2021. More details to follow. 16th July 2020 Patrick would like to thank everyone for their kind donations to his 80th Birthday fundraiser which has raised in access of £2200. 2nd February 2020 Brimpsfield Music Society is proud to announce the launch of its new fundraising initiative, which is to be branded BMS VILLAGE HALL CONCERTS. BMS has long recognised the need to promote the provision of new platforms for musical performance outside the school environment. We consider this a vital part of young musicians’ development. Brimpsfield Music Society will arrange hire of village hall venues and will invite schools to prepare a student recital programme for that venue on an agreed date. BMS will assist the school in publicising their performance. Participating schools will benefit financially from the donations received from the audience. All concerts will be free of charge to the public and any donations made will be completely voluntary. Safeguarding and transport arrangements will be the sole responsibility of the performing schools. For more information please visit www.brimpsfieldmusicsociety.co.uk Patrick Daly.
